Hillcrest's Music Ministries

"Sing with joy to God our strength and raise a loud shout to the God of Jacob. Raise a song and sound the timbrel, the merry harp, and the lyre." - Psalm 81:1-2 Hillcrest is fortunate to have dedicated singers and instrumentalists who give many hours of their time. Our goal is to present meaningful, uplifting, and appropropriate music to set the mood and tell the story. There are many opportunities for musicians within this community of believers. The Aldersgate Choir sings at the 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship service and rehearses on second and fourth Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. Chancel Choir sings at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service and rehearses every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Each Thursday morning a group of singers travels to a designated assisted-living facility to sing for and with the residents. On second and fourth Sunday afternoons the Chime Choir meets to learn music and basic techniques of chiming. All singers, instrumentalists, and chimers are welcome to experience the joy of making music and the fun of fellowship. Ability to read music is not a requirement and there are no auditions or age limitations. CHANCEL CHOIR has begun rehearsing their Christmas program and would like to invite all who are interested to sing along. Music-reading ability is not required and here are no auditions. The Christmas music is rehearsed from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. each Wednesday. While it is not mandatory to be present every Wednesday, singers should attend all the December rehearsals. CHOIR CHIMESCHIME REHEARSALS are on 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 2:45 p.m. (right after youth group.) We are fortunate to have a small but dedicated group of chimers who add joy and excitement to our worship services. If you are interested in helping in any way, please speak to Susan after worship.
